Ex Poser

In the P.B.L. classes I read a story by Paul Jennings,This story happeneds in the present and at school in Britan or in U.S.A. The themes of the story are lies and love. The characters of the story are Sandra Morris, Ben Fox and Boffin.Sandra Morris and Ben Fox are snobs and rich they think that they are importants.Boffin is very smart and intelligent , he is the narrator and he has green eyes. This story is about a boy who makes a lie machine, he wanted to know about Sandra , and he asked embarrased questions. The conflict of this story is when Boffin asks sandra embarrases questions and Sandra gets tacky. Finally the narrator discovers that Sandra Morris loves him.

Biography

Paul Francis Jennings (20 june 1918 - 26 December 1989) was a British humourist. He mostly wrote short articles; his most famous collection is The Jenguin Pennings, published in 1963 by Penguin books (hence the Spoonerism of the title).
Although he wrote a small number of books for children, Jennings should not be confused with his prolific (and still-living)
namesake, an Australian children's writer.

  1. Hi, Lucas!! You've done a very good job. Your summary of the story is really clear and to the point, although there are some spelling mistakes (correct them). The blog is ok, try to change the colour of the the text to white so it stands out.
    Good job.

  2. Hi Lucas, your commentary is good, but please let me point out one mistake in your comprehension. The narrator and Boffin are NOT one and the same person. Boffin is the smart boy in the class, smarter than even the teachers (according to the narrator). Boffin is the narrator 's friend. It was Boffin who made the lie detector, and the narrator uses it on Sandra Morris AFTER Boffin demonstrates how the machine works. We the readers can learn the narrator' s name too, at line 26,when after testing the machine Boffin handing it over to the narrator, saying "you have one seven questions, David..." So the narrator 's name is DAVID, and he and Boffin are good friends and naturally not one and the same person. Hope this helps you to better understand the story.
